There is international concern over BIA-ALCL and this paper by Peter Cordeiro adds significantly to our knowledge of the disease. This is the largest single surgeon series published on the disease, and the senior author is to be congratulated on his meticulous recording and follow up of all his cases.

However, as well as adding to our understanding, it also brings to light additional questions and challenges for the international regulatory and surgical communities.
