Professor Bijendra Patel is Professor of Surgery at Queen Mary University of London & Society of Surgical Simulation. This talk looks at Simulation and extended reality (XR) and improving access to robotic training

Highlights of Intraoperative Imaging

Babar Vaqas, Consultant Neurosurgeon at Queens Hospital Romford and Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London, explores the use of novel technology in improving precision during cancer resection. 

The AI Revolution

One of the conference’s keynote talks focuses on understanding AI and its implications for surgery and healthcare, including the impacts of Chat GPT for surgical practice and academia.

Professor Sashi Kommu is Honorary Professor of Urology & Cancer Biology and Consultant Pelvic Cancer Urological Surgeon. Their talk explores the role of AI in urological surgery and training.

Professor Oliver Pearce, the FRCS Ortho at Milton Keynes University Hospital looks at the use of AI in early intervention.

New Frontiers in Robotic Surgery

The second keynote talk of the day comes from Asit Arora, Robotic Head & Neck Consultant Surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust London, on the introduction of robotics.

How AI is advancing surgical robotics

In the afternoon, there is a panel discussion on the future of robotic surgery with a range of speakers from the days programme, to give delegates more insight into what changes could be seen over the next decade and beyond.

The day concludes on talks looking at innovation outside the theatre.
