The Oncoplastic Breast Consortium (OPBC) consists of breast cancer surgeons from gynecologic oncology, general and plastic breast surgery and a strong patient advocacy group. The consortium focuses on oncoplastic breast conserving surgery, nipple/skin sparing mastectomy with immediate reconstruction and optimal flat closure after conventional mastectomy.

Our mission is to continuously improve oncoplastic breast surgery by bringing international experts together, promoting high-quality education and performing international multicenter studies.

The activities of this independent non-profit organization are coordinated by one single oncoplastic surgeon per country.

The panel consists of one or several senior oncoplastic surgery leaders per country and patient advocates. The panelists are contacted by email with urgent questions and regularly meet either in person or by means of video- and teleconferences to clarify controversies and develop standards.

Everyone across the world from the three disciplines above who is interested in oncoplastic surgery is welcome to register as a member. We also invite breast cancer survivors to register as patient advocates and support our mission in close collaboration with our medical professionals. In addition, we welcome representatives from the industry.

Members are regularly informed by newsletters on specific training opportunities, meetings, events, congresses and courses that are considered recommendable by the OPBC coordinators.

The OPBC currently consists of 557 members from 77 countries.
